dc.description.abstract The degree of Master of Medicine (Surgery) of the University of Dar es Salaam. It comprises ten surgical conditions divided in three parts, Part one consists of five conditions/pertaining to general surgery. Part two consists of two cases in urology and part three, three cases in orthopaedics and traumatology. In each topic a case is presented in detail; the rest of the cases are summarized; A review of relevant literature centred on area of controversy and recent advances in the management of the condition done. The topic is discussed with particular references to observations made at Muhimbili Medical Centre. Surgery is so wide so that its acquisition from daily practice, audio or visual aids is endless. Moreover more facts are accumulating daily. I am obliged to admit that I will remain a student in surgery until when my life expires. en_GB
