Abstract:
This dissertation conforms to the requirements for the award of the degree of Master
of Medicine in Surgery in accordance with the regulations of the University of Dar es ,
Salaam. It consists of ten studied surgical conditions which have been divided into
three parts, Part one consists of five conditions pertaining to General Surgery, part two
has two conditions in Urology, and part three has three conditions in Orphopaedics
and Trauma. All these cases were studied during the three years of residence in
Surgery. In each condition an appraisal of one case has been done in detail followed
by a summary of the characteristic features of all the patients in the study population
